It made me think about the DLM Forum – the organisation that brought you MoReq. And I concluded that the DLM Forum's picture is almost all dark. The DLM Forum has consistently over-promised and under-delivered; it lacks sensible governance arrangements
I say ‘don’t tell anyone because’ the DLM Forum (its publisher) seems to be keeping it quiet. In its most bizarre move yet, the DLM Forum has published MoReq2010 – but without a big splash to tell people
Just in time for its meeting in Brussels starting tomorrow, the DLM Forum published yesterday (Sunday 14 November 2010) a newsletter about MoReq2010...This is available from the DLM Forum website
MoReq 2010 Consultation Portal Launched Request for contributions To participate register at http://contribute2moreq.eu MoReq 2010 project The DLM Forum has begun an intensive work programme to update MoReq, model requirements for the management of electronic records
The promised input from AIIM and other professional bodies did not materialise; and there was virtually no input from national archives. Worse yet, the DLM Forum has announced a commitment to publish a completed MoReq2010 specification by 31st December 2010
Lots of news about MoReq2010 following the DLM Forum’s triennial conference in Brussels (Belgium) this week (12 to 14 December 2011). SOFTWARE TESTING PROGRAMME The DLM Forum has launched its testing programme for MoReq2010
From an original intention to present a draft at the DLM Forum’s Spring 2010 meeting, it has slipped so far that we still have yet to see a single word of the draft
If you have any interest in MoReq, you may want to set aside some time to review the draft of MoReq2010 between 26th November and 26th December. At the DLM Forum Members’ Meeting in Brussels on 17th November, the author of MoReq2010 announced that the draft of the “core + essential plugin modules” for MoReq2010 will be available on 24th November (for members only) and 26th November (for everyone else)
So far, there has been only one "announcement" from the DLM Forum about this(see http://tinyurl.com/VagueMoReq2010News ), and that concentrates on thanking consultees and explaining what has happened rather than future plans or status
First, groups like AIIM, ARMA, TAWPI , the International Council on Archives , and the DLM Forum regularly convene groups of experts and volunteers to develop guidance on new technologies and applications
